Comforting Hearts Ministries was started on March 15, 1999 by our founder John C. Mac Iver. We began with the premise that we wanted to help any heart in distress with the same comfort we ourselves had received from God, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. And we did try to help anyone who God saw fit to bring into our path. Then in 2001, like our brother Chuck Colson, of Prison Fellowship, our founder committed a crime and was sentenced to 5 years in prison where he met a group of imprisoned sex offenders who were all alone; no family, no friends, no hope. It was at that time God said, "This is who you are to help." Until then we believed all the myth and hype the media portrays. Until Jesus changed our hearts! He gave us Repentant Sex Offenders and said, "Minister to them, for you are with them and remember if you minister to the least of my children you've ministered unto me." And that's what we've been doing ever since and we love our work! Since that time our newsletter, the Heart Warmer has found its way to about 100 prisons across the country. And now we serve people who have committed any crime imaginable. And we love them. Please keep us in prayer as we seek to bring the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to ALL who need it!
